Through an exciting collaboration with Native Northeast in Assam, Annaloom now offers
curated textile tours of Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland. The tours are crafted to bring
guests right to the artisans, to experience their lifestyle, to interact with them and take
part in workshops.
Northeast India is one of the most enriched biodiversities of the world, home to
numerous fascinating tribes, and at the crossroads of India, China and Southeast Asia.
Not yet well established on the tourist map, this region is beginning to attract travellers
with curiosity and a sense of adventure.
Sharing its borders with Tibet, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh, it has until recently
been politically and geographically sealed off from the outside world. It was this
inaccessibility that enabled the region and it’s people to preserve their unique ecological
and cultural diversity.
Recently, with developments in infrastructures and a better connectivity to the rest of
the world through air, rail and road, this remote region is now accessible to the keen
explorer.
